Murut are an indigineous ethnic group, comprising 29 sub-ethnic groups inhabiting northern inland regions of Borneo.

Background Story

The Murut people is a subgroup of the Kadazan-Dusun, their dressing is also similar with the Kadazan-Dusun. Majority of the Murut communities are located in the southwest interior of Sabah, specifically in the districts of Keningau, Tenom, Nabawan, Pensiangan, along the Sapulut and Padas Rivers.
